Irjen Wibowo Officially Becomes Polri Kakorlantas, Agus Suryonugroho Leaves Message for Police Transformation

JAKARTA - Inspector General of Police Wibowo officially became the head of the National Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Polri. The handover ceremony from Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho to Wibowo took place at the National Traffic Management Center (NTMC) Police Field, Jakarta, Saturday, July 4.

In his remarks, Agus said that various achievements during his leadership of the National Police were the result of togetherness, cohesiveness, and a sense of ownership that was continuously built by all personnel.

"There are many things that I have certainly done at the Korlantas Polri that are not yet optimal, but thanks to togetherness, thanks to cohesiveness, and the sense of ownership that we have built, many achievements that we can carve together," said Agus as quoted by Antara.

Agus also apologized to all personnel if during his leadership there were policies, directions, or actions that were not pleasing.

"If there is a policy, order, or activity that makes colleagues uncomfortable or offended, I apologize, including from my wife and children," he said.

Entering the last term of office, Agus emphasized that the baton of leadership was not the end of service. He is optimistic that the National Police will continue to develop under the leadership of Wibowo and be able to continue various transformation programs that have been initiated.

"The most important thing is to change the face of the police, to become a police force that is close to the community, accepted in the community, both in terms of attitude, behavior and the way we speak," he said.

Agus invited all personnel of the Korlantas Polri to maintain cohesiveness and professionalism in providing services to the community.

"In the relay of leadership, there is actually service and service. Let's pray that the Korlantas Polri will continue to move forward and continue to make positive contributions, especially in serving the community," said Agus.
