JAKARTA - Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas said the extradition process of fugitive Paulus Tannos alias Thian Po Tjhin will be decided by the Singapore Court in August 2026.

So far, said the Coordinating Minister, the extradition of Tannos is still in process after the Singapore High Court rejected the request of the suspect in the alleged electronic KTP corruption case.

"It's still in a not too long time, if it's not wrong in August, it will be decided in the Singapore Court," said Supratman when met after the event "There Must Be a Solution in Jakarta", Friday, June 19, reported by ANTARA.

After the request for Tannos' extradition was rejected by the Singapore High Court on Friday (29/5), the committal hearing regarding the case will be held again in August 2026.

The hearing will later include hearing the final opinions of each party, including the Indonesian government represented by the Singapore Attorney General's Office (AGC) and legal advisor Paulus Tannos.

The committal hearing with the agenda of the final opinion is a determination stage in court, where the judge hears the closing arguments and conclusions of each disputing party before the judge issues a committal order.

Previously, the Minister of Law and Human Rights stated that he would continue to coordinate with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia (Polri) after the Tannos lawsuit regarding extradition was rejected.

"We at the Directorate of the Central Authority and International Law with all law enforcement officers, in this case the KPK, continue to coordinate regarding this matter," said Supratman when met in Jakarta, Friday (5/6).

On the other hand, the KPK is also committed to completing cases involving Tannos if extradition is realized.

"The presence of the suspect in Indonesia will be very important to ensure that the judicial process can run effectively, as well as provide legal certainty for all parties," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta, Friday (5/6).

On August 13, 2019, the KPK named Paulus Tannos as a suspect in the development of the investigation into the electronic KTP case, which is suspected of causing losses to the state treasury of up to IDR 2.3 trillion.

However, Tannos fled abroad and changed his identity. He was then put on the wanted list (DPO) or became a fugitive of the anti-corruption commission since October 19, 2021.

Currently, Paulus Tannos has been arrested by Singaporean authorities. Meanwhile, the Indonesian government has submitted an extradition process to the Singaporean government.
