BKSAP DPR Responds to Global Challenges, Encourages Muslim Youth to Become Agents of Change

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Syahrul Aidi Maazat, emphasized that the International Muslim Youth Forum (IMYF) 2026 is a crucial momentum to strengthen the collaboration of the world's Muslim youth. This forum is expected to be able to produce young generations who are ready to face various increasingly complex global challenges.

When opening a forum entitled "Beyond Borders: Muslim Youth Shaping the Future of the Ummah in a Turbulent World" at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (12/6/2026), Syahrul emphasized the importance of global solidarity in the midst of a turbulent world situation.

"Forums like this are important to build awareness, strengthen unity, and strengthen collaboration among the world's Muslim youth," said Syahrul Aidi Maazat in a written statement.

The Strategic Role of Muslim Youth in the Global Arena

According to Syahrul, the younger generation of Muslims has a very strategic role in producing solutions to various global issues. Moreover, the current Muslim population has reached almost two billion people spread across various parts of the world.

He reminded that this large number should not just be a number, but must be transformed into a real force that contributes positively to world civilization through collective action.

"We must not be pessimistic. As young people, we must be optimistic. The future must be built with collaboration, a spirit of unity, and the belief that we are capable of making the best contribution to the world," he said.

Furthermore, Syahrul explained that the true values of Islam teach peace, respect for humanity, and compliance with rules and justice. Therefore, Muslim youth are urged to take a greater role as agents of change in spreading the message of peace in the midst of global conflicts.

Strategic Networking and Input for the PUIC Meeting

For the DPR BKSAP, IMYF 2026 is not just a regular discussion room, but a strategic platform to build a network (networking) among Muslim youth across countries. From this forum, it is hoped that concrete ideas and cooperation that are beneficial to the international community will be born.

In addition, the spirit and thoughts that develop in the IMYF 2026 forum will be a valuable input for the BKSAP of the DPR RI.

The recommendations from this forum will later be brought by the DPR delegation when attending the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) in Azerbaijan in the near future.

At the end of his speech, Syahrul hoped that the essence of IMYF 2026 would not stop when the forum was over, but would continue to be passed on to the next generation through concrete actions.

"Hopefully this spirit will continue and become energy for the world's Muslim youth to work together to build a more peaceful, just, and prosperous future," he concluded.
