These 25 Regencies/Cities Get The Task Force's Attention Due To The High Increase In COVID-19 Cases

JAKARTA - Spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, revealed 25 districts/cities with the highest increase in COVID-19 cases after three weeks of Eid al-Fitr.

The 25 cities are located in 5 provinces, namely Central Java with an increase of 120 percent, Riau Islands with an increase of 82 percent, West Sumatra with an increase of 73 percent, DKI Jakarta with an increase of 63 percent, and West Java with an increase of 23 percent.

"These 25 regencies are cities with the highest contributors to the increase in COVID-19 cases over the last 3 weeks nationally", Wiku said in a Youtube video broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, Wednesday, June 9.

Wiku asked these 25 regions to immediately control cases of coronavirus transmission in their respective regions. This must be followed up immediately so as not to aggravate the increase in cases nationally.

"The focus of the handling is to reduce cases as soon as possible and to suppress transmission so that there is no transmission. Because of the district/city declines, the national cases will also decrease significantly", he said.

Here are the 25 districts/cities with the highest increase in COVID-19 cases over the past three weeks:

Central Java

1. Kudus increased by 7,594 percent

2. Jepara rose 682 percent

3. Sragen increased by 338 percent

4. Semarang City rose 193 percent

5. Semarang Regency increased by 94 percent

Riau islands

1. Batam City increased by 257 percent

2. Karimun rose 116 percent

3. Natuna is up 100 percent

4. Bintan is up 81 percent

5. Tanjungpinang City increased by 13 percent

West Sumatra

1. West Pasaman up 157 percent

2. Religion rose 151 percent

3. Solok is up 128 percent

4. Dharmasraya increased by 125 percent

5. Padang rose 75 percent.

DKI Jakarta

1. South Jakarta rose 92 percent

2. East Jakarta rose 67 percent

3. Central Jakarta rose 57 percent

4. North Jakarta rose 43 percent

5. West Jakarta rose 42 percent

West Java

1. Ciamis rose 700 percent

2. Bandung is up 261 percent

3. Cianjur rose 188 percent

4. Karawang rose 152 percent

5. Cirebon is up 115 percent
