Ganjar Asks Demak Regency Government To Prepare To Anticipate COVID-19 Spike

SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo asked the Demak Regency Government, whose territory borders the Kudus Regency, to prepare various measures to anticipate a spike in COVID-19 cases.

"There are three things that the Demak Regency Government must prepare because Kudus is side by side with Demak and is red (zone), we learn from Kudus," said Ganjar while visiting Tugu Lor Village, Karanganyar District, Demak Regency, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 8.

There are three things that the Demak Regency Government must prepare, namely a centralized isolation place, additional beds, and the involvement of all components of the community in handling COVID-19.

According to Ganjar, the worst scenario that could happen is a spike in COVID-19 cases and the Demak Regency Government is experiencing difficulties so that the Central Java Provincial Government can intervene and pick up patients to be taken to centralized isolation.

"The rest we ask for coordination, so this information system needs to be provided to the public so that the public knows. How many hospitals are there, so people are aware of this," he said.

Apart from that, Ganjar hopes that both the Demak and Kudus Regency Governments can help each other like the City of Semarang which has helped by accepting referral patients from Kudus.

"So lastly, if there is any problem later, I ask whether in Demak or in Kudus today may report to us and let's help each other, earlier there were also many who were from Kudus being treated in Demak previously," he said.

In the area that Ganjar visited, namely Tugu Lor Village, there were 26 people who were exposed to COVID-19 and all of them were self-isolating.
