Razia Blok Hunian, Cipinang Prison Submits Evidence to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police

JAKARTA - The Head of the Cipinang Class I Penitentiary Institution (Lapas), Wachid Wibowo, emphasized a firm and uncompromising commitment in eradicating drugs, illegal cellphones, and various forms of violations in the prison environment. This commitment was again proven by Cipinang Prison's quick response in supporting the disclosure of the alleged circulation of etomidate vape developed by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police at one of the night entertainment venues in the South Tanjung Duren area, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, Friday (6/3).

In the development of the case, law enforcement officers investigated the alleged involvement of one of the inmates of Cipinang Prison. Following up on this information, the Cipinang Prison staff immediately moved to carry out intensive coordination with the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police and strengthened internal security to ensure that security and order remained maintained.

As a concrete step, the security personnel of Cipinang Prison carried out a raid and a thorough inspection of the residential block of the inmates. From the results of the inspection, the officers secured communication equipment suspected of being related to the case and were subsequently handed over to the Police for further investigation.

In addition, the inmates who are suspected of being directly related are placed in the Restorative Block for security, supervision, and further investigation as a preventive measure and control of the internal situation.

The information was conveyed by the Head of Cipinang Class I Prison, Wachid Wibowo, while directly leading the raid activity with security personnel in the residential block environment, Thursday (14/5). In his statement, Wachid emphasized that his party fully supports the law enforcement process and will not provide room for compromise against any form of deviation.

"We immediately moved quickly in coordination and synergy with the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police to support the process of uncovering this case. Currently, the process is still being developed by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police. Internal security, raids, and direct control measures are carried out as a form of seriousness in maintaining security and the integrity of the community," said Wachid.

He added that the commitment to Zero HALINAR continues to be strengthened through multi-layered supervision, early detection, routine raids, and strict action against any violations.

"There is no tolerance for drugs, illegal cellphones, or various other forms of irregularities. If in the process of deepening there is found to be involvement of other parties, including officers, we will take firm action in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations," he continued.

The quick steps taken by Cipinang Prison are part of the implementation of 15 Action Programs of the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections in 2026, especially in eradicating drugs and various fraud modes in the prison environment and the State Detention House.
