After Attending the ASEAN Summit, Prabowo Arrives at Miangas Island, North Sulawesi

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has arrived in Miangas, Talaud Islands in North Sulawesi to visit the people on the northernmost island in Indonesia and bordering the Philippines.

Citing Antara, the President arrived in Miangas at around 09.45 WIB after attending the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Philippines.

In Miangas, President Prabowo is scheduled to meet with the community and review the health center on one of the outermost islands in the archipelago.

Upon arrival in Miangas, the President was greeted by the Minister of Defense (Menhan) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, the Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid, Deputy Commander of the TNI General Tandyo Budi Revita, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force (KSAU) Marshal TNI Mohamad Tonny Harjono and a number of other officials.

The President was also accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

The President was seen talking and taking photos with a number of airport officers before finally boarding the Pindad Maung vehicle.

Previously, the President attended the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Philippines on May 7-8, 2026. During the meeting, the strengthening of joint commitments of Southeast Asian countries in facing global challenges, especially in the fields of food and energy security, was discussed.

Foreign Minister Sugiono in his press statement said that the main issue that emerged in various summit sessions was ASEAN's collective response to the impact of the global geopolitical situation, especially the conflict in the Middle East which also affected the lives of countries in the region.
