JAKARTA - The Iranian military has stated that it is ready to attack the predetermined targets if the United States launches a new attack on the country.

The warning was delivered by the spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, following what he called repeated threats from President Donald Trump and US military commanders.

"Our strong and capable forces have been on full alert for a long time and are ready to act at any time," Zolfaghari said, quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Wednesday, April 22.

He stressed that if there was "aggression or any action against the Islamic Republic of Iran," Iranian forces would "immediately attack the predetermined target with full force."

The statement came after Trump on Tuesday said he would extend a ceasefire with Iran at Pakistan's request.

He also reiterated that the naval blockade of Iranian ports remained in place and had ordered the US military to maintain it.

According to Trump, the ceasefire will be extended until Iran submits what he calls a "unified proposal."
