JAKARTA - The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) has confirmed that all visas for Indonesian Hajj officers for the implementation of the 1447 Hijriah/2026 Hajj have been issued after previously being hampered by administrative processes.
Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Wamenhaj) Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said that visa issuance problems are often encountered every year, especially because of the screening and verification process from the Saudi Arabian authorities.
"This way, almost every year, the visa problem always arises, especially from the Saudi Arabia side. Usually they have a screening process, there are administrative problems and so on," said Wamenhej Dahnil as reported by ANTARA, Friday, April 17.
He explained that previously all the Hajj visas for officers had been issued. However, a few days before the departure of the first wave of officers, as many as 40 officer visas, which were on average from the Hajj Media Center (MCH) team, were canceled again due to sectoral administrative issues.
"After the visa was issued, it was canceled because there were sectoral administrative problems," said WamenhajDahnil.
According to him, the sectoral administration in question is related to the request for re-verification from the Saudi Ministry of Information regarding the data of the officers.
"There is a request from the Saudi Ministry of Information to conduct another verification," said Wamenhaj.
However, WamenhajDahnil ensured that the problem had been resolved. All visas that had previously been hampered have now been issued and officers can be dispatched according to plan.
"But as of last night, 40 were finished, so journalists who want to leave don't worry," said WamenhajDahnil.
In starting the 2026 Hajj mission, around 400 Hajj officers will begin to depart for the Holy Land on Friday. They will be a team of predecessors to ensure the readiness of services to welcome guests of God Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala (SWT).
The Hajj officers who started to leave were those who served in the Madinah Working Area (Daker) and the Airport. Meanwhile, the first group of prospective pilgrims will start departing on April 22, 2026.
