JAKARTA - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, confirmed that all procurement of goods, such as socks, laptops and eating utensils that have been in the public spotlight have been measured.
Dadan emphasized that the procurement of these goods was indeed part of the operational needs of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program, but the amount was not as large as widely reported.
"Procurement exists, but not as much as mentioned. For example, 32 thousand units of laptops and Rp4 trillion worth of tableware are completely not true," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 13.
The head of BGN emphasized that the procurement of socks, laptops and cutlery was carried out according to the actual needs in the field and not in a fantastic amount as circulated.
He said that throughout 2025, the procurement of laptops in the BGN environment was only carried out for 5,000 units, not 32,000 units. In addition, regarding the procurement of eating utensils, only 315 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) were built through the financing of the State Budget (APBN).
"The procurement of eating utensils is only for 315 SPPG funded by the State Budget with a ceiling of around Rp. 215 billion," said Dadan.
BGN ensures that the development of the SPPG based on the state budget has been determined based on the Joint Decree (SKB) of the relevant ministers, so that all procurements follow the planning that has been determined by the government.
In terms of budget, Dadan detailed the ceiling for the procurement of eating utensils of Rp. 89.32 billion, with a realization of around Rp. 68.94 billion. This shows that the procurement was carried out efficiently and did not exceed the budget that had been set.
In addition, the procurement of kitchen utensils is also an important part of supporting the operations of SPPG. For the procurement of kitchen utensils, the budget ceiling is set at IDR 252.42 billion with a realization of around IDR 245.81 billion.
According to him, all procurement was carried out in a measured manner and adjusted to the operational needs of each SPPG, so that there was no waste of budget in its implementation.
Dadan emphasized that the figures were far from the claims circulating in the public which stated that the procurement value reached trillions of rupiah.
