JAKARTA - The Kremlin said on Sunday that a meeting between Russian parliamentarians and the United States was beneficial, while the restoration of relations between the two countries was said to depend on Washington.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the visit of Russian parliamentarians to the United States was very productive.
"Of course, this trip is very useful," he told TASS as quoted (29/3).
Previously, a delegation consisting of five members of the Russian Parliament visited the United States at the invitation of the US House of Representatives member of the Republican Party Anna Paulina Luna.
During a visit to Capitol Hill, Washington D.C. Thursday, Russian parliamentarians met with five US members of Congress from both the Republican and Democratic parties, including Anna. They also held a session with the National Security Council, and held discussions with experts.

Assessing that this visit will contribute to the recovery of relations between the two countries, Peskov ensured that Russia is ready to deepen relations with the US as far and as fast as Washington is ready to do so.
"However, this will significantly contribute to the full restoration of bilateral relations, provided that the US is ready and willing to move in that direction," he said.
"We are ready to move forward as far and at the same speed as the Americans," Peskov added.
