Soldier Two Nawawi M.M. Latifullah managed to make Indonesia proud after winning the 1st Champion of the 2nd International Musabaqah Hifdzil Qur'an (MHQ) for military personnel held at the Air Defense College, Misrata City, Libya, last Friday (13/3).
The soldiers from Yonif TP 834/Wakanga Mere, Brigif 21/Komodo, Kodam IX/Udayana appeared in the 30 juz memorization category and were able to show their best ability, until they were declared the first winner in the international military level Quran memorization competition.

The 2nd International Hifdzil Qur'an (MHQ) Musabaqah, which is under the auspices of the Libyan Ministry of Defense, lasted for six days, 17-23 Ramadan 1447 H (March 7-13, 2026), and was attended by more than 50 military personnel from various countries, including Indonesia, Mauritania, and a number of other countries.

Before participating in the race, the TNI delegation participants first underwent briefing, training, and Al-Qur'an recitation on March 2-5, 2026 at the Al Mu'min Jatikarya Mosque and the Al Ikhlas Mosque, SCBD Complex, South Jakarta.
The training was guided by Ustadz Adi Hidayat, Syekh Syahrir from Libya, and Ustadz Ulil Abshar Alhafidz to prepare the participants as much as possible before participating in the international competition.
The closing ceremony of the competition was also attended directly by the Prime Minister of Libya Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh who also handed over awards to the winners as a form of appreciation for the dedication of the soldiers in memorizing the Qur'an, as well as their contribution in upholding religious values, morality, and discipline in the military environment.
Meanwhile, the Commander of Yonif TP 834/Wakanga Mere, Lieutenant Colonel Inf Justikhandinata T, expressed his pride and appreciation for the achievements of his soldiers.
