TANJUNGPINANG - The State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the Tanjungpinang City Government, Vina Saktiani, a suspect in the alleged fraud in the selection of the Domestic Administration Institute (IPDN) has been detained by the Tanjungpinang Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

The Head of Public Relations of the Tanjungpinang Police, Iptu Suprihadi, said the suspect was detained after voluntarily surrendering himself to the police, Monday, May 31.

"He has been sent to the Tanjungpinang Police detention cell," said Suprihadi, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 3.

According to Suprihadi, the suspect was absent from police calls twice, arguing that he had been in Pekanbaru, Riau Province.

He stated that currently the investigative team is continuing to investigate and complete the case file, so that it will be immediately transferred to the prosecutor's office.

"Further developments will soon be communicated to media partners," he said.

Previously, the suspect, Vina Saktiani, allegedly committed fraud against a Tanjungpinang resident with the initials T, with the lure that the victim's child could pass the IPDN selection.

After receiving the money, the victim's child took part in the selection but did not pass. Feeling cheated, the victim finally reported the perpetrator to the Tanjungpinang Police.

The police concluded that the perpetrator was not part of the selection committee for accepting IPDN students, but rather as a suspect in a fraud case.
