Police Examine 9 Witnesses Of Avanza Car Crash In Lake Toba

MEDAN - The Samosir Police have examined nine witnesses to determine the cause of the fall of a Toyota Avanza in Lake Toba from KMP Ihan Batak.

The Head of Sub-Division of Penmas for the North Sumatra Police, AKBP MP Nainggolan, said the Samosir Police had also sent a letter of request for an expert to the Land Transportation Management Agency (BPTD) and the Director General of Land Relations of the Ministry of Transportation.

From the results of the inspection the ship's engine at the time of loading and unloading is dead.

"The accident occurred because the ramp door of KMP Ihan Batak was detached, so that when the car got out of the ship it fell into Lake Toba. The ship moved while leaning on the dock because the sling ramp door came out of its axis," said Nainggolan, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 3.

Previously, the Toyota Avanza fell from KMP Ihan Batak and entered Lake Toba in Ambarita, Simanindo, Samosir Regency, North Sumatra, Monday, May 31.

Three passengers were successfully evacuated, namely Zulkarnain Tanjung (76), Hj Farida (72) and Neiny Safrina (33). Meanwhile, another passenger, Desy Marizdayani (32) died because she could not get out of the car, so the car was submerged in water for about 15 minutes.
