National Dinner title, Darmizal said Prabowo is a true statesman in the midst of world turmoil

JAKARTA - The President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Prabowo Subianto held a national dinner with former Presidents and Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia as well as the General Chairmen of political parties at the State Palace, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, February 3.

Prabowo was accompanied by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Gibran Rakabuming Raka and the Red and White Cabinet (KMP) ranks. Present at the reception were among others, the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, former Vice President Jusuf Kalla, former Vice President Boediono, former Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, former Foreign Ministers and all Party Chairmen.

At the location of this intimate gathering, Prabowo was seen sitting in the middle. The former Danjen Kopasus was seen flanked by Joko Widodo and SBY.

Seeing the dinner, the general chairman of Jokowi Volunteers (ReJO) for Prabowo-Gibran, HM Darmizal, admitted that the meeting was very important. Darmizal said that the event was a form of national brotherhood.

"Why is this meeting so important? Because the context is not trivial. The world is heating up. The escalation of the conflict between the United States and Israel and Iran at the end of February 2026 has shaken the global geopolitical order. Energy prices are volatile, regional stability is threatened, and Indonesia as a big country cannot stay silent," said Darmizal.

Darmizal added that President Prabowo's move, who had just returned from an eleven-day state visit to the United States and the Middle East, should be appreciated.

"He did not choose his own path. He chose to listen. He learned from the experiences of his predecessors, absorbed the wisdom of cross-generational people, and gathered input to formulate the best mitigation steps for Indonesia. This is not an easy thing for a leader to do," he continued.

Furthermore, Darmizal emphasized that this meeting strengthened his confidence in Prabowo's leadership character.

"This is what I mean when I say repeatedly, Prabowo has finished with himself. His leadership today is entirely for the nation and the state. A leader who has finished with himself, still maintains communication and dialogues sitting at the same table with his predecessors, there is no doubt to ask for their advice," he said.

Darmizal also highlighted that although Megawati Soekarnoputri was unable to attend due to the party's internal agenda in Bali, her presence was still represented by Puan Maharani as the Chairperson of the DPR RI.

"This shows that the message of unity is still conveyed. No one rejects the call for nationality. All elements of the nation are present, both directly and through representation," he explained.

According to Darmizal, the social gathering and national discussion at the Merdeka Palace is not an ordinary event, but a symbol that national leadership is not interrupted by the term of office.

"At a time when the world is turbulent, Indonesia has shown maturity, where current and past leaders sit together, not blaming each other, but rather strengthening each other. This is where the nationhood of Prabowo Subianto lies. Not in rhetoric, but in real actions to build national reconciliation and consolidation when the nation needs it," he said.

This man from West Sumatra hopes that this kind of unity spirit will continue to be maintained in the future.

"Indonesia needs a strong leader, but Indonesia needs a leader who is willing to listen, egalitarian and dialog to find a national solution," said Darmizal.
