BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police has ensured that the South Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II Toll Road is ready to be opened functionally during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming and return as an effort to reduce vehicle density.
Director of Traffic of West Java Police Kombes Raydian Kokrosono said the lane became one of the sections that were prepared after a joint check with Kakorlantas and West Java Police Chief.
"Japek II South from the last check by Pak Kakorlantas and Pak Kapolda will be opened functionally, especially during the return flow," said Raydian as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 27.
According to him, the opening of the lane is expected to be able to break the flow of vehicles from Central Java to Jakarta so that the density on the main lane can be reduced.
In addition to Japek II South, the Bocimi Section 3 toll road along about 6 kilometers which connects Parungkuda to Karangtengah is also potentially opened functionally.
"This is to avoid congestion at Cibadak Market," he said.
Raydian emphasized that the opening of the lane was situational and would be determined based on the results of traffic counting during the homecoming and return.
"If it is really needed, we will adjust it later," he said.
Meanwhile, the West Java Police have also begun to mature preparations for the homecoming and return flow through a working meeting of the traffic function as part of the readiness of Operation Ketupat 2026.
Raydian explained that the meeting was a crucial step to ensure that security was running optimally.
"A number of preparations have been made, ranging from cross-sectoral coordination, field surveys, to synergy with various stakeholders," he said.
In Operation Ketupat 2026, there are five security clusters that are of concern, namely the toll cluster, arterial roads, especially the southern route, tourist attractions, places of worship, and crossings such as airports and ports.
