JAKARTA - Starting from a love of music, BINUS SCHOOL Simprug students proved that passion does not stop on stage. Through a charity concert titled Symphony of Love, they managed to collect more than IDR 359 million to support the needs of the elderly in Jakarta.
The applause filled the auditorium when the music echoed. However, for the students, this concert is not just an artistic performance, but a form of social contribution that they designed and ran themselves, from planning concepts, promotions, collaboration with sponsors, to the technical implementation of the event at the BINUS Anggrek Auditorium, Jakarta, Sunday, February 22.
The collected funds will be channeled to Pusaka 41 Orphanage (Al-Madiniyah Foundation) in Cengkareng and Santa Anna Elderly Home in Teluk Gong. The assistance is focused on daily needs such as food, hygiene supplies, and basic medical needs for residents.
Head Committee Symphony of Love, Annabelle, said that this activity was born from a simple spirit to make music a bridge of concern.
"We believe that passion in the music field does not stop at appearances on stage. Through this concert, we want to show that the work we love can also have a direct impact on society," he said.
Deputy Head Committee Symphony of Love, Aleeza, added that the preparation process for the concert was also a meaningful learning space for students, not only gaining learning in terms of musicality but also learning more about empathy and caring for the environment.
"We learned that the interest we have needs to be managed with commitment and collaboration in order to produce an impact. Symphony of Love taught us that music is not just about performance, but about social responsibility and leadership," he said.
Meanwhile, a representative from Pusaka 41 Nursing Home said that he was very touched by the initiative taken by BINUS SCHOOL Simprug students who had taken the time and energy to be able to share with the elderly.
