JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has issued a regulation requiring a number of entertainment venues to close during the month of Ramadan in 2026 or 1447 Hijriyah.

The types of entertainment venues in question include: a. malamb clubs. discotheques. steam baths. massage houses. manual, mechanical and/or electronic agility game arenas for adults. standalone bars/drinking houses and those found in nightclubs, discos, steam baths, massage houses and manual, mechanical and/or electronic agility game arenas for adults, as well as karaoke.
All other tourism business activities that support certain tourism businesses that are one unit in one room must be closed.
However, certain types of tourism businesses held in 4-star and 5-star hotels are exempt from the obligation to close operations. The time of their implementation is as follows:
a. nightclubs from 20.30 WIB until 01.30 WIBb. discotheques from 20.30 WIB until 01.30 WIBc. steam bath from 11.00 WIB until 23.00 WIBd. massage houses from 11.00 WIB until 23.00 WIBe. arena of manual, mechanical and/or electronic dexterity games for adults from 11.00 WIB until 24.00 WIBf. bars/drinking houses from 11.00 WIB until 01.00 WIBg. bars/drinking houses that support certain tourism businesses as referred to in letters a to e following the provisions of the time of holding the main business activities.
"Especially for nightclubs and discos that are held in conjunction with a minimum 4-star hotel area and commercial areas and are not adjacent to residential areas, houses of worship, schools and/or hospitals are excluded from the provisions (obligatory to close operations)," said Andhika.
Meanwhile, executive karaoke businesses can hold activities during Ramadan from 20.30 WIB until 01.30 WIB and for family karaoke businesses can hold activities during Ramadan from 14.00 WIB until 02.00 WIB.
Then, the billiar/bola sodok house business can hold activities during the holy month of Ramadan with the following provisions:
a. Billiar/sodock house business located in one room with executive karaoke business as referred to in paragraph 6 starting at 20.30 WIB until 01.30 WIB. b. Billiar/sodock house business standing alone starting at 10.00 WIB until 24.00 WIB.
"The owner/responsible for the tourism business must make a payment process (closed bill) 1 hour before the closing time of the business activity that has been determined," he said.
At businesses or entertainment venues that are allowed to operate during Ramadan, it is mandatory to close operations on certain days, including:
a. 1 day before the holy month of Ramadanb. the first day of the holy month of Ramadanc. the night of the Nuzulul Qur'an. 1 day before Eid al-Fitri or the night of takbirane. the first and second days of Eid al-Fitrif. 1 day after Eid al-Fitri.
"Violations of the provisions are subject to sanctions in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations," concluded Andhika.
