No Pardon, Kubu Raya Regent Fired 2 ASN for Disrespecting Proven to Use Drugs

SUNGAI RAYA - Kubu Raya Regent Sujiwo has imposed a non-honorable dismissal sanction on two state civil servants (ASN) members of the Kubu Raya Police Pamong Praja Unit (Satpol PP) who were proven to use drugs.

"This firm sanction is the commitment of the regional government in upholding the integrity and discipline of the apparatus by implementing a reward and sanction system consistently to all ASN in the Kubu Raya Regency Government environment without exception," said Sujiwo in Sungai Raya, quoted from Antara, Monday, February 16.

Sujiwo explained that the two ASN were declared positive for drug use based on the results of the tests and verifications conducted by the relevant agencies.

The decision to dismiss was not taken hastily, but rather through a stage of investigation and administrative study in accordance with the provisions.

"After the results of the examination were declared valid, the local government immediately took the step of dismissal as a form of firmness in enforcing discipline," he said.

According to Sujiwo, there is no tolerance for aparatur who commit reprehensible and deviant acts, including for personnel who are tasked with enforcing regional regulations. The behavior of the aparatur, he said, must reflect ethics and responsibility as servants of the community.

He hopes that the firm sanction will be a warning for all ASN to maintain their attitude, integrity, and professionalism in carrying out their duties. Public trust in bureaucracy, he said, can only be maintained if it is filled by clean and ethical apparatus.

Sujiwo also reminded that supervision of government officials' performance is now increasingly open. The public can easily monitor the behavior and performance of ASN, so that any violation has the potential to damage the image of public services.

"Therefore, I ask all ASN in Kubu Raya to stay away from all forms of acts that violate laws and norms of the civil service. The regional government is committed to building a disciplined, professional, and drug-free bureaucratic governance," he said.
