NasDem: We Focus on Making the Government Successful

JAKARTA - The NasDem Party is reluctant to comment further on the emergence of the Prabowo Subianto-Zulkifli Hasan duet discourse in the 2029 Presidential Election.

NasDem emphasized that his party respects the internal proposals of each political party (parpol) and focuses more on being responsible for the success of the Prabowo government.

"That's the internal affairs of the party, right. So if the party is a rule, it's normal, it's normal," said NasDem Deputy Chairman Saan Mustopa, at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 10.

"But it depends on Mr. Prabowo himself. So it's an internal matter for each of us and we just respect it. We respect and we appreciate," he continued.

NasDem also considered it reasonable when the discourse on Prabowo's two terms emerged. Moreover, the level of satisfaction with the Prabowo government reached 80 percent.

"Yes, if there is a discussion about Mr. Prabowo 2 periods, there are even those who have proposed it. Mr. Prabowo for him to run in the second period, I think it is a natural thing. Because if we look at the latest survey results related to the level of public satisfaction with Mr. Prabowo, it reaches 80 percent. And the level of satisfaction is very high," said Saan.

"So in my opinion it is natural if, for example, there is a discourse that proposes two periods," added the Deputy Speaker of the DPR.

However, Saan revealed that NasDem would not encourage the discourse. He said, NasDem is still focused on being responsible for the success of the Prabowo-Gibran government.

"NasDem will talk internally yes. And NasDem is focused, NasDem is part of the government coalition of Mr. Prabowo. And Nasdem certainly has the responsibility to ensure that Mr. Prabowo's period can run successfully, successfully and all priority agendas, priority policies of Mr. Prabowo can be realized well," he said.

"And NasDem is in a position to fully support the government of Mr. Prabowo until the end of his term. Later, other things will follow and so on. But NasDem is focused on being responsible for the success of Mr. Prabowo," concluded Saan.
