JAKARTA - PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) provided an explanation regarding the circulation of a video on social media showing a bus submerged in water until it entered the passenger cabin area.
Head of the Transjakarta Public Relations and CSR Department, Ayu Wardhani, emphasized that this clarification was conveyed to straighten out the information so as not to cause misunderstanding among the public.
"The bus seen in the video is not a Transjakarta fleet. We always put the aspect of safety, security, and customer comfort as the main priority, especially when facing extreme weather conditions," he said in a written statement, Friday, January 22, 2026.
According to Ayu, Transjakarta has strict standard operating procedures (SOP) in dealing with the impact of weather, including the potential for flooding on the service line. In accordance with the provisions, operational adjustments will be made when the water puddle on the track has reached the safe limit, namely a maximum of half the diameter of the bus tire.
He emphasized that in this condition, Transjakarta can shift routes to temporarily stop services to ensure the safety of passengers and fleets. Monitoring all service routes, continued Ayu, is carried out continuously by officers in the field.
"Our team continues to monitor the condition of the track in real time. If the situation is considered risky, the service will be immediately adjusted until the condition is safe again," he said.
Ayu appealed, that the public should be more careful in receiving information circulating on social media and ensure its authenticity through official communication channels.
"The latest information regarding services can be accessed through the TJ application: Transjakarta and the official Transjakarta account on social media, such as Instagram and the X platform," he said.
