President Abbas Awards Medal of Appreciation to the Head of the EU Police Mission

JAKARTA - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas awarded a medal of appreciation to the Head of the European Union Police and Law Enforcement Mission for the Palestinian Territories Karin Limdal.

The award, delivered by the Director General of the Palestinian Police, Major General Allam Al-Saqqa, was given in recognition of his contribution to Palestine.

President Abbas awarded the medal in recognition of Limdal's important role in supporting and improving the capacity of the Palestinian Police, the Ministry of Justice, and the wider justice sector, as well as his efforts to uphold the rule of law and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of justice policies in Palestine, launching WAFA (18/6).

The award also recognizes his role in fostering friendship and cooperation between the European Union and Palestine.

The award was given during a ceremony held on Thursday at the Palestinian Police Headquarters in Ramallah to mark the end of Limdal's mission in Palestine.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Director General of the Police, Brigadier General Rashid Al-Hamdan, several senior police officials, inspector generals, department directors, and a number of senior advisers from the European Union Police Mission.

Al-Saqqa praised the long-term support of the EU mission for the development of the Palestinian police institution and the strengthening of its professional capabilities, highlighting Limdal's efforts to deepen partnership and cooperation between the two parties.

Meanwhile, Limdal expressed his gratitude for the award, stressing that support for the Palestinian Police and the justice sector will remain a priority for the EU mission as part of a sustainable partnership with Palestinian institutions.

He said the cooperation contributed to improving security, the rule of law, and services to the Palestinian people.
