BOGOR - The West Java Provincial Government has begun to distribute compensation for residents affected by the closure of mining activities in the West Bogor area gradually, with the initial payment focused on some recipients.
The Head of the Bogor Regency Village Community Empowerment Office (DPMD) Hadijana in Cibinong, Wednesday, said that the distribution of compensation was preceded by a socialization activity to the community in a number of affected sub-districts.
"According to the information I received, today socialization has been carried out for residents in the Cigudeg, Rumpin, and Parungpanjang Districts," said Hadijana.
He explained that compensation payments began on Thursday (22/1), but did not include all recipients because they were carried out gradually.
"If the information is around 1,000 to 2,000 people, the target is approximately 2,000 recipients," said Hadijana as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 21.
According to him, the priority of the initial payment was given to residents who had never received any assistance.
"The information is that tomorrow it will start to be paid, with priority for residents who have not received at all. For the first phase, it is still gradual," he said.
Hadijana explained that the compensation financing mechanism had been adjusted from the initial plan. If previously sourced from unexpected spending (BTT), it is now diverted through the direct spending scheme.
"Initially from BTT, now it has become direct spending," he said.
Compensation payments are made through a banking transfer mechanism. Data on recipients has been collected and each citizen will receive a savings book as a means of disbursement.
"The payment is through transfer. The data is there, the residents have sent the data and the savings book has been made," said Hadijana.
He said that in the initial stage of distribution, it was also accompanied by the distribution of savings books by Bank BJB to recipients who were receiving compensation for the first time.
"Tomorrow is also the distribution of savings books from BJB, because some of the recipients are the first time," he said.
Regarding the total number of compensation recipients, Hadijana said that his party had not received the final recapitulation data because the data collection and determination of recipients were entirely at the level of the West Java Provincial Government.
"The exact number is in the province. We in the district have not received the report," he said.
He said the amount of compensation disbursed in the initial phase was IDR 3 million per person for one month, with the possibility of further disbursements being made in accordance with the availability of the budget.
"The information is that it was Rp3 million for one month ago, because the disbursement was gradual," said Hadijana.
Hadijana emphasized that the data collection process was carried out by the West Java Provincial Government through the village government, with assistance from the sub-district and district governments.
"The data is from the province to the village, accompanied by sub-districts and regencies, including from the DPMD, then verified and validated," he said.
Previously, Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto ensured that the local government continued to monitor the distribution of compensation so that it ran orderly, fairly, and did not cause social unrest in the community.
The Bogor Regency Government continues to build intensive communication with the West Java Provincial Government so that the rights of affected residents can be accepted immediately. He emphasized that the policy of assistance was not decided suddenly.
"Based on initial data, there are around 6,000 recipients, then there are around 9,000 more from several villages and sub-districts, so the total is around 15,000 people. That was decided a few days ago by the Governor of West Java," said Rudy.
