Ready Umbrella! Rain Potentially Floods Jakarta Throughout Wednesday

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most of Jakarta will have the potential to be hit by light rain throughout the day on Wednesday, January 21. Rain is expected to fall from morning to evening with relatively cool air temperatures.

Based on the BMKG forecast, light rain will dominate the weather in almost all areas of Jakarta. Meanwhile, the Thousand Islands region is predicted to experience cloudy conditions at several periods of time.

In the morning, light rain is predicted to occur in most areas of Jakarta. The Thousand Islands are predicted to be cloudy. The air temperature ranges from 26-28 degrees Celsius with a humidity of 80-85 percent. Wind speed ranges from 9.2-24.2 kilometers per hour.

Entering the afternoon, light rain is still potentially falling in Jakarta, while the Thousand Islands are again predicted to be cloudy. The air temperature is relatively stable in the range of 25-26 degrees Celsius with a humidity level of 82-86 percent. Wind speeds were recorded between 9.9-26.1 kilometers per hour.

In the afternoon, BMKG predicts light rain will be evenly distributed throughout the Jakarta area, including the Thousand Islands. The air temperature is estimated to range from 26-27 degrees Celsius with a fairly high humidity, namely 82-91 percent. Wind speed tends to be lower, ranging from 8.1-14.2 kilometers per hour.

Furthermore, at night, light rain is expected to still wet Jakarta. The air temperature will decrease to a range of 24-26 degrees Celsius with a humidity of 84-96 percent. The wind speed at night is in the range of 8.3-26.4 kilometers per hour.

Meanwhile, on Thursday (22/1) morning, light rain is still potentially occurring. The air temperature is estimated to be in the range of 23-26 degrees Celsius with a humidity of 86-96 percent. Wind speed is recorded between 10-17.8 kilometers per hour.

BMKG urges the people of Jakarta to remain vigilant against wet weather conditions that have the potential to last quite a while. Residents are expected to prepare rain gear and pay attention to safety and traffic conditions during activities.
