Commemorating Pancasila Birthday, Garuda Team Performs Maneuver In Sky Of Jember

JAKARTA - The Garuda Terbang Team from the Indonesian Air Force and the Indonesian Aero Sports Federation (FASI) maneuvered in the skies of Jember Regency, East Java, Sunday in commemoration of the Birthday of Pancasila, June 1, 2021.

A total of 19 aircraft were involved, consisting of nine motorized aircraft and 10 paramotor planes that performed aerial acrobatics or airshows that took off and landed at Notohadinegoro Airport in Wirowongso Village, Ajung District, Jember Regency.

"Our objective is to increase the interest of Jember people towards aerospace in hope that Notohadinegoro Airport can be more alive and become the center of aerospace," said the Head of the Indonesian Air Force's Center for Aerospace Potential (Puspotdirga) First Marshal (Marsma) Fajar Adriyanto.

The activity in collaboration with the Indonesian Aero Sport Federation (FASI) and the Garuda Terbang Team will introduce the interesting potential of Notogadinegoro Airport through aircraft acrobatic spectacles.

"Besides that, this Garuda Terbang activity is in the term of commemorating the 67th Years of Pancasila and implementing values of Pancasila in society," he said.

According to him, these activities will continue to be carried out by observing health protocols and it is hoped that flight training in Jember can improve aerospace athletes' achievements because there are several interesting aerospace spots, such as paragliding, hang gliding, and aeromodelling spot.

As monitored on the field there are many people who wanted to see the Garuda Terbang Team air attraction at Jember Notohadinegoro Airport, but they were not allowed to enter the airport because the committee limited visitors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so residents looked outside the airport fence.

Road access to the airport was jammed because many people flocked to the airport witnessing the maneuvers of the Garuda Terbang Team performing acrobatics at Notohadinegoro Airport.
