Mensesneg: Prabowo Corrects IKN Design, Requests Acceleration of Legislative-Judicial Facilities

JAKARTA - The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi revealed that President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the acceleration of the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), especially the facilities that will be used for legislative and judicial functions with a target for completion in 2028.

He explained that President Prabowo landed in the Nusantara Capital since Monday evening with a number of ministers and in the morning received a direct briefing from the Head of the IKN Authority regarding the progress of construction.

"From the beginning, the President emphasized speeding up the construction of facilities that will be used by the legislative and judicial branches. This morning he received an update and made some corrections," Prasetyo told reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration of Taruna Nusantara High School Campus Malang, East Java, Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

According to him, the President's correction targets two main things, namely the design and function of the building. The President also asked the IKN Authority and the PUPR Ministry to continue to make improvements so that construction can run according to the direction.

When asked about the President's special notes regarding IKN, Prasetyo emphasized that his main direction was clear. "The note is to improve and accelerate the development process, so that the three functions can be completed immediately," said Prasetyo.

After the agenda at IKN, the President continued his journey to Malang Regency to inaugurate the Taruna Nusantara High School Malang Campus. Prasetyo said the construction of the school was part of efforts to improve national education facilities.

"We are building people's schools. We are also building flagship schools because we want to prepare human resources that will drive the rise of Indonesia's Gold 2045," he said.
