Implementation Of SIN Pajak, Megawati: Preventing Corruption Crime

JAKARTA - The Fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, said that the application of the Single Identification Number (SIN) or Single Tax Identity Number can prevent the occurrence of criminal acts of corruption.

Megawati said this when speaking at a webinar with the theme "Optimizing Tax Revenues through the Implementation of SIN Taxes for Indonesia's Fiscal Independence", in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Friday, May 28.

In addition to encouraging the optimization of state revenue, the application of tax SIN also has broader elements and benefits.

"Namely, it can prevent and eradicate criminal acts of corruption, increase systemic state revenue, realize a systematic audit process, prevent bad debts," said Mega who is also Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan in his press release.

In fact, he continued, SIN Pajak was able to create a prosperous Indonesia.

The chairman of the Steering Committee of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) said, now is the time for all parties to realize that as a nation and a country, do not always stick to a set of rules.

"Because the existing regulations should always be improved, or still be used," said the daughter of the Indonesian proclaimer Bung Karno.

He hopes that the Government can evaluate tax policies.

Megawati gave motivation that when she was president, she was also proven to be able to make Indonesia better, while still grappling with restructuring the economy due to the global crisis at that time.

"I also hope that taxes can become an important instrument in realizing Indonesia that stands on its own feet, or stands on its own feet in the economy, as part of the Trisakti philosophy," Megawati said at the event organized by Pelita Harapan University.

Apart from Megawati, other speakers were Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Former Director General of Taxation Hadi Purnomo, and Head of UPH Associate Master and Doctoral Study Program Prof. Henry Soelistyo Budi.
