Police Remind Supporters Of Uncle Birin And Denny Indrayana Not To Be Noisy On Social Media Ahead Of Re-voting For South Kalimantan Election

BANJARMASIN - The South Kalimantan Regional Police reminded the team of candidate pairs (paslon) including supporters and sympathizers of the governor candidate Sahbirin Noor (Uncle Birin) and the deputy governor Denny Indrayana to be wise in using social media ahead of the re-voting for the South Kalimantan governor election. PSU will be held on June 9.

"Currently, there is quite a lot of discussion on social media regarding the re-voting, especially supporting the candidate pair, we remind you to maintain ethics so that it doesn't result in violating the law," said Head of Sub-Directorate V Cyber Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the South Kalimantan Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Zaenal Arifien in Banjarmasin, as quoted by Antara, Friday, 28 May.

The police will continue to carry out cyber patrols to ensure that there are no violations from posts on social media.

According to Zaenal, noise in cyberspace can result in disruption of social security in the real world if it is not quickly suppressed. Therefore, the police are on standby 1x24 hours to monitor the dynamics that are developing, especially ahead of the current PSU.

"Supporting each other personally is okay, let alone being positive, for example, highlighting the advantages of each candidate pair that is supported. However, what must be avoided is the content of conflict on each other to trigger separation," said AKBP Zaenal

In addition, the public is reminded not to produce hoaxes, including spreading them. If that happens, then legal consequences can be given to the perpetrator.

The Cyber Sub-Directorate of the South Kalimantan Police is also active in providing education to the public in the form of knowledge about the dynamics in cyberspace through the "Virtual Police" program.

"In our enforcement steps, we continue to prioritize the principle of restorative justice, starting with mediation efforts to create a clean, healthy, ethical, productive, and diverse cyberspace," said Zaenal.
