KUPANG - A joint SAR team has evacuated another victim of the pinisi ship KM Putri Sakinah which sank on December 26, 2025 in the waters of Padar Island, West Manggarai Regency, NTT which resulted in four victims missing.

"The victim was found dead at a distance of 7.48 nautical miles from the initial location of the sinking ship," said the Head of the Maumere SAR Office as SMC (SAR Mission Coordinator) Fathur Rahman, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 6.

The victim's body was found after at 14.30 Wita, the joint SAR team received information from local fishermen who reported finding the wreckage of the KM Putri Sakinah.

One victim was found inside the wreck, who was suspected to be the son of the Valencia coach whose body was found last Sunday (4/1).

He explained that on the 12th day of the search, the SAR team carried out a search on the islands nearby by lowering the sonar and divers.

After finding the victim, who was suspected to be the child of the coach of the Valencia FC B women's team, the joint team using the KN SAR Puntadewa 250 immediately evacuated the victim to the Marina Labuan Bajo Port.

This was done for further action and was handed over to the West Manggarai Police DVI Team to identify the victim's body.

Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police, Kombes Pol Henry Novika Chandra, said the West Manggarai Police DVI was still carrying out identification to confirm that the body found was a Spanish foreigner.

"We are still waiting for the results of the identification from DVI," he said.

Previously, a maritime accident occurred on the Putri Sakinah motor boat carrying tourists in the waters of the Padar Island Strait, Labuan Bajo, NTT.

The pinisi ship carried 11 passengers consisting of six foreign tourists from Spain, one tour guide, and four crew members.

Of the total 11 people on board, seven were rescued. The other four were declared missing.
