DPR Members Ask The Government To Follow Up On Used Antigen Test Cases

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VI of the DPR, Nevi Zuairina, asked the government to follow up on the used antigen test case which caused a stir some time ago.

According to him, the case at Kualanamu Airport, North Sumatra, should be a lesson in the seriousness of the country in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. Moreover, the use of used antigen rapid test kits at international airports has tarnished Indonesia's name in foreign eyes.

Nevi also encouraged the government to follow up on developments in domestic vaccine manufacturing. He hopes that the handling of COVID-19 related to vaccination can be done in an effective and efficient way.

"The Gotong Royong vaccine program will become a symbol of the country's seriousness in overcoming the pandemic which has been going on for more than one year," Nevi said, Friday, May 28.

Regarding the Gotong Royong vaccine, the PKS politician warned that independent vaccines should not become a new field of business for any party. For this reason, Nevi assessed that the responsible pharmaceutical BUMN must control and monitor so that incidents such as in Kualanamu do not recur.

Regarding the type of vaccine, Nevi continues to ask that the priority of domestically produced vaccines such as the Red and White vaccine be at the forefront of accompanying future vaccination programs.

"The spirit of the Red and White and Nusantara vaccines must be supported," he said.
