Car Free Night Puncak Starts December 31 at 18.00 to 06.00

BOGOR - The Bogor Regency Government, West Java, together with the Bogor Police, implemented a Car Free Night (CFN) on the Puncak Route to anticipate traffic congestion and a surge in tourists during the New Year's Eve 2026.

Bogor Regency Regional Secretary (Sekda) Ajat Rochmat Jatnika said the policy was part of integrated security to maintain traffic flow and public safety in the Puncak tourist area.

"Car Free Night is implemented to reduce density and potential congestion on the Puncak Line on New Year's Eve, as well as ensuring public safety," said Ajat as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 29.

The CFN on the Puncak Line will be implemented starting from December 31, 2025 at 18.00 WIB until January 1, 2026 at 06.00 WIB. During this period, vehicle traffic from Jakarta to Cianjur or Bandung will be diverted.

The diversion of traffic is directed through the Sukabumi Line. In addition, the public is also urged to use the Cibubur-Cileungsi-Jonggol-Cariu-Cikalong-Cianjur alternative routes to avoid congestion in the Puncak area.

The Bogor Police will implement vehicle blocking at six main points of the Puncak Line. The four-wheel vehicle blocking is carried out from 21.00 WIB to 02.00 WIB, while two-wheel vehicles start from 22.00 WIB to 00.30 WIB.

The six blocking points include the Patung Ayam gas station, Simpang Pasir Angin, Simpang Megamendung, Simpang Lokawiratama, Simpang Taman Safari, and Gunung Mas area.

A total of 72 joint personnel from the Traffic Unit, Transportation Office, Satpol PP, and Samapta were deployed to secure and regulate traffic at the blocking points.

Ajat added that security for New Year's Eve was also accompanied by steps to anticipate disasters considering the Puncak Line is prone to landslides, especially during the rainy season.

"Integrated posts will be established along the Puncak Line, and heavy equipment will be deployed at Simpang Gadog and Gunung Mas to anticipate potential landslides," he said.

In addition to the Puncak Line, traffic engineering is also carried out at a number of other points. In the Lingkar Pakansari area, the inner ring road will be used as a parking area, while the outer ring road is used as a vehicle crossing lane.

Meanwhile, on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, a contraflow system will be implemented and a parking area will be prepared to support the smooth flow of traffic during the 2026 New Year's Eve celebration.

The Bogor Regency Government appeals to the public to plan their trips carefully, comply with traffic regulations, and follow the instructions of officers in order to create a safe, orderly, and smooth New Year's Eve celebration.
