JAKARTA - The police carried out traffic engineering to maximize the investigation into the explosion that occurred inside the Monas area. Several roads in the Medan Merdeka area are already sterile from vehicles.

"08.37 WIB Polri carried out engineering by closing the road from the direction of Medan Merdeka Timur to Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara," wrote the Twitter account @TMCPoldaMetro, Tuesday, December 3.

The road to Medan Merdeka Barat in front of the Ministry of Home Affairs is closed. The U-turn is closed too. The police were seen on guard on the street.

Road closure is carried out by using a barrier on the road body to block vehicles. A number of traffic police were also on standby to block any incoming car. Meanwhile, the police have also been deployed to various points.

The VOI team met Maryati, one of the cleaners who served in front of the MA. Maryati said, the sound of the explosion sounded quite loud at around 07.05 WIB.

"I was sweeping in front of the MA, bleed, I got to grip. At first I thought it was a car tire," said Maryati.

Quoted from era.id, which collected information from various sources, the position of the explosion was right in front of the Monas park yard area, opposite the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Next to the Ministry of Home Affairs is the Supreme Court. Then this building is only separated by Jalan Veteran to reach the Merdeka Palace.

This area is commonly referred to as ring 1. Palaces to a number of ministries and City Halls are around this area.
