Minister of Law and Human Rights encourages the resolution of Bali community disputes through Posbankum

DENPASAR - The Minister of Law (Menkum) Supratman Andi Agtas encourages that the dispute of the people of Bali can be resolved with a restorative approach through legal assistance posts (posbankum) whose establishment in the area has reached 100 percent.

"Solve it at the Posbankum Village / Village, sit together with the spirit of menyamabraya (brotherhood) and parasparos sarpanaya (together). This is the essence of true substantive and restorative justice," said Supratman, Friday, December 12.

The Ministry of Law has inaugurated the establishment of 717 postbankum in Bali Province (12/12). With this achievement, Bali has become one of the 29 provinces that have fulfilled 100 percent of postbankum services in all villages and sub-districts.

Supratman said Bali has a strong social foundation in resolving legal issues.

According to him, the settlement of cases in the community must prioritize a settlement based on peace and the value of togetherness. He said that problems such as inheritance disputes, conflicts between residents, or family problems do not need to be rushed to the police until they go to court.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Bali Wayan Koster called the posbankum a breakthrough in legal services that needed to be appreciated.

According to Wayan, the posbankum is a wise step that needs to be supported and utilized in the development of a legal awareness culture in society.

"Joint commitment is very important to ensure that posbankum runs well and sustainably. In addition, posbankum can contribute to the development of Bali and help realize a democratic, just, prosperous, and happy life of Balinese people," he said.

On the other hand, the Head of the Bali Legal Affairs Ministry Regional Office, Eem Nurmanah, explained that Bali Province had formed 717 Posbankum in nine regencies/cities, with the number of posbankum in villages as many as 636 and in villages as many as 81.

"Furthermore, we will also hold training for 8,680 paralegals in Bali gradually. The first batch, with a total of 550 paralegals, will carry out activities from December 19 to 23 with an online method," explained Eem.

Based on data from the Ministry of Law, the number of posbankum nationwide has reached 71,773 or 85.50 percent of the total 83,946 villages/villages. In Bali, there are 11 accredited Legal Assistance Organizations (PBH) that strengthen services.
