The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has relocated residential areas in two sub-districts in the southern region of Cianjur Regency which were affected by land shifts based on the results of a study by the Center for Volcanology on Geological Mitigation (PVMBG).

Head of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Division of BPBD Cianjur Nurzen said, of the 16 sub-districts affected by ground movement in 2024, only a few villages will be relocated in Kadupandak and Takokak sub-districts because land shifts are still happening.

"Several points with a large number of houses affected will be relocated in groups and land provided by the government, such as in Kadupandak and Takokak sub-districts," he said in Cianjur, Friday, which was confiscated by Antara.

He explained, land certainty has been prepared by the Cianjur Housing and Settlement Areas (Disperkimtan) Office, which has the authority in both sub-districts, but his party allows people to relocate their homes independently with a record that the land is far from the point of shifting land.

Especially for self-relocation, he said, if there are residents who own other land and are safe from shifting land, they will still receive housing development assistance from the government, like the relocation of the group of one village.

The nominal assistance received by residents with lightly damaged houses amounted to Rp. 15 million, moderately damaged Rp. 30 million, and heavily damaged Rp. 60 million, including the assistance of the Hunian Wait Fund (DTH) for houses severely damaged as many as 893 heads of families (KK).

"We are targeting the relocation and assistance of stimulant funds for repairing affected houses in 16 sub-districts to be carried out in 2026 with the number of recipients possibly reduced from the proposal of around 4,199 families," he said.

Of the total recipients of DTH, 893 families of land were severely damaged by the verification results of the Cianjur Regency Housing and Settlement Service (Disperkimtan), Rp500 thousand per KK had received assistance.

"We propose DTH for residents affected by land shifts in accordance with the Decree (SK) previously determined, based on the results of the Cianjur Disperkimtan verification," he said.
