Mirwan MS Deactivated For 3 Months, Aceh Government Appoints Baital Mukadis As Acting Regent

The Aceh Government has received an official notification from the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the dismissal of Mirwan MS as the regent of South Aceh. Aceh Government Spokesperson Muhammad MTA said that the Deputy Regent of Baital Mukadis was then appointed as acting (Plt) for the South Aceh regent.

Muhammad MTA said the temporary suspension period would last for three months. Regarding the types of sanctions or provisions that apply during the inactive period, all policies are under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

"Usually, officials who are deactivated will follow the coaching program related to the government scheduled by the Ministry of Home Affairs. If later necessary considerations from the Aceh Government, the governor will officially convey it to the Minister of Home Affairs," he said in Aceh, Tuesday, December 9.

The deactivation of Mirwan MS was carried out in the midst of the public spotlight on his departure to carry out Umrah when his area was affected by flash floods and landslides.

Previously, the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian confirmed the temporary dismissal to reporters at the Ministry of Home Affairs office, Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Jakarta.

"About the two decree decisions that I signed today related to the Regent of South Aceh, the first decree regarding the temporary suspension of 3 months on behalf of Mirwan MS, the Regent of South Aceh, Aceh Province," he said.

Previously, Mirwan MS had apologized for the Umrah without permission and during the disaster emergency. Mirwan conveyed the apology to the central government and the wider community.
