The Ministry Of ATR Intensifies Small Island Certifications To Strengthen State Sovereignty

JAKARTA - Certification of small islands by involving other institutions such as the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), continues to be intensified by the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).

"Of course we will continue to intensify inventory and certification (islands) involving related institutions such as KKP, so that all outer islands get land certification, legality or land rights above them to ensure security and safety," said Deputy Minister of ATR/Deputy Head of BPN Ossy Dermawan, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, December 6.

Synergistic efforts between the Ministry of ATR/BPN and the KKP have a significant impact on increasing legal certainty as well as protecting coastal areas and small islands.

The real results of the collaboration between the Ministry of ATR/BPN and KKP in the certification of these islands are expected to continue.

The Ministry of ATR/BPN received a number of awards for its contribution in supporting the acceleration of certification of small islands by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP).

"We from the Ministry of ATR/BPN are very honored and proud to receive this from the KKP, especially respecting our joint efforts in handing over the certificates of the outermost small islands. This is also a manifestation that the state is present in accordance with the direction of President Prabowo Subianto so that our nation's sovereignty continues to be strengthened and upright in our own country," said Ossy.

The Ministry of ATR/BPN received an award for its role in accelerating the issuance of Certificates for Use Rights on various islands in Indonesia on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia c.q. Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

The award includes the issuance of a Certificate of Use of Land on Lusi Island by the Land Office (Kantah) of Sidoarjo Regency; on Mega Island by the Cantah of North Bengkulu Regency; by the Regional Office of West Sulawesi Province.

Then on 10 Unresidential Islands by the Kantah of Mamuju Regency; on Batek Island by the Kantah of Kupang Regency; and on the Island of Sawau Besar by the Kantah of Simeulue Regency.

In addition, awards were also given to the Directorate of Land Rights Control, Land Function Transfer, Islands and Certain Regions, as well as to the Director of Land Rights Control, Land Function Transfer, Islands and Certain Regions Andi Renald.
