Police Arrest Recidivist Of Empty House Theft, Proceeds Of Crime Used To Buy Drugs

Polda Metro Jaya arrested a recidivist with the initials H alias Nano, a recurrence criminal who had been in and out of prison three times for the case of breaking into an empty house (Rumsong). The proceeds of the crime were used by Nano to buy drugs.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, said that the perpetrator H alias Nano was arrested by the Resmob Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya.

"Nano is known to be a specialist recidivist in the theft of empty houses. He has been recorded as having been in and out of prison three times, in 2017 the perpetrator raided the Brimob house and stole firearms, and was involved in similar theft cases in 2021 and 2022," he said in a written statement, Saturday 6 December 2025.

Budi said the last theft was carried out in the Poris area, Cipondoh, Tangerang City on October 16, 2025. From CCTV footage, Nano was seen climbing the fence, damaging the windows, then freely draining the contents of the house. The victim lost about 50 grams of gold, Rp25 million in cash, and a cellphone. The total loss is estimated at Rp126 million.

"The perpetrators acted on foot looking for targets randomly and targeted uninhabited houses to facilitate their actions," said Budi

Budi said, after being hunted for almost two months, the perpetrator was finally arrested under the Cengkareng Flyover, West Jakarta, on December 2, 2025. During the examination, Nano admitted that the proceeds of his crime were used for capital for methamphetamine transactions.

In this case, the police also confiscated clothes worn in action, two motorbikes, and a number of stolen gold jewelry. Now Nano is languishing in the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters and is charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code.

"As a form of accountability for his actions, the perpetrator is now taken to the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, to receive legal consequences by serving detention and punishment behind bars. The maximum penalty is 9 years in prison," he said.
