JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Gibran Rakabuming Raka met residents who were victims of flash floods at the Nagari refugee post or Salareh Aia Village, Palembayan District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra (West Sumatra).

Arriving at the evacuation post, Gibran greeted a number of residents affected by the flash flood and chatted while sitting.

"We need the construction of houses destroyed due to the impact of flash floods that hit the area, Thursday (27 November) afternoon," said one of the Nofendri refugees in Lubuk Basung, Thursday.

He said other complaints in the form of agricultural land and oil palm owned by residents were swept away by flash floods.

Meanwhile, agricultural land cannot be used and the community's economy is only from agriculture and plantations.

After that, residents' requests to the Prabowo-Gibran government in the form of education, if possible, these disaster victims get scholarships or are free of charge for their education, ahead of the normal community economy.

"Those three points are what we ask for and are very important, if you don't have a house where you live, if there is no agricultural land, how do you try and pay for children's education. I would like to thank you for visiting the Vice President, because this is the first time the head of state has come to our village," he said.

Meanwhile, the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, expressed his gratitude for his input.

Improvement of access to communication, health centers, schools, bridges and roads will be accelerated, so that logistical assistance and fuel oil will run smoothly again.

"I was ordered by the president to accelerate regional recovery in distributing aid logistics through land, sea and air routes," he said.

He advised the local government, BNPB, Polri, TNI and others to pay attention to the victims who fled from the tent, eating three times a day and clean water.

"Ladies and gentlemen are not alone, the government is here for the community," he said

West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi Ansharullah added that Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka found the fact that the people in Salareh Aia, Palembayan, Agam and districts were the most victims.

"The most victims are Agam and including agricultural land, housing, public facilities and schools," he said.

With the arrival of the Vice President and previously the President, it has been explained that damage to houses, roads, bridges and others will be rebuilt.

Meanwhile, PLN, Telkomsel and other parties have begun to restore electricity and communication networks.

"We focus on finding missing victims involving Basarnas, TNI, Polri, PMI and other volunteers," he said.

After receiving the aspirations of the refugees, Gibran together with the Governor of West Sumatra Mahyeldi, Major General TNI Arief Gajah Mada, West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Gatot Tri Suryanta, Agam Regent Benni Warlis, Deputy Regent of Agam Muhammad Iqbal and others visited locations affected by flash floods in Sawah Laweh, Jorong Kayu Pasak, Nagari Salareh Aia, Palembayan District.
