Rob Flood On Jalan RE Martadinata, Motorcycle Users Can't Pass

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said the tidal flood or coastal flooding submerged the Jalan RE Martadinata area, Papanggo Village, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, as high as 40 centimeters on Thursday morning, December 4.

"For North Jakarta, the most affected is Jalan RE Martadinata, in front of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), with water levels reaching 40 centimeters at 09.30 WIB," said Head of the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Vitus Dwi Indarto.

He said the lane could only be passed by four-wheeled vehicles, while many two-wheeled vehicles experienced engine failure due to flooding.

Currently, officers from the North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-dept. are doing water suction using two mobile pump units and one floating pump.

"We continue to monitor the height of the tidal flood," said Vitus.

Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD Data and Information Center Mohamad Yohan said his party mobilized personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate elements of the Natural Resources, Highways Office, and the Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) to carry out inundation suction and ensure that the water lines function properly, along with the local village and sub-district head and prepare basic needs for survivors.

"The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time," said Yohan.

BPBD DKI also appealed to the public to remain careful and alert to potential inundation.

"In an emergency, immediately call phone number 112. This service is free and operates for 24 hours non-stop," Yohan appealed.
