JAKARTA - Deputy Governor (Deputy Governor) of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno opened kick off the preparation of the 2027 Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) by highlighting a number of achievements and challenges in Jakarta's development. He considered the preparation of the RKPD to be the first step to determine the priority direction for development in 2027.

Rano explained the development of macroeconomic indicators that showed improvement. He said Jakarta's economic growth in the third quarter of 2025 reached 4.96 percent, while inflation as of October was at 2.69 percent. The investment value was also recorded at Rp204.13 trillion.

"This illustrates that the Jakarta economy continues to grow with price stability maintained and inflation is under control, God willing," said Rano.

The increase in the welfare of citizens, he continued, can be seen from the decline in the open unemployment rate to 6.05 percent and the decline in the poverty rate to 4.28 percent in 2025. However, Rano reminded that inequality is still a big homework.

"Even so, the Gini ratio of 0.441 indicates that the issue of inequality in Jakarta is still a challenge that needs serious attention," he said.

Rano explained that the direction of development in 2027 was based on the vision and mission of regional heads as well as the development stages contained in the 2025-2029 RPJMD. Regional development is also directed at achieving the 2045 Jakarta vision target, including reducing poverty, reducing inequality, and increasing per capita income.

He emphasized that every city and administrative district will contribute according to the characteristics of its territory.

"Meanwhile, the direction of developing the DKI Jakarta Province is prioritized to support the achievement of Jakarta's vision target in 2045, namely reduced poverty and reduced inequality, as well as an increase in per capita income," said Rano.

The direction of development in 2027, he continued, will focus on strengthening fundamentals through the DKI Strategic Project as well as strengthening Jakarta's position as a global city through the Global City Program. This focus takes into account the 2025'2029 strategic issues and the evaluation of the running program.

According to Rano, the strategic issue of Jakarta's development in 2027 includes quality of human capital, productive economy, adequacy of livelihood, responsive government, adequacy of city infrastructure, climate resilience, and increased regional connectivity.

The first is the quality of human capital. The second is the productive and competitive economy. Third, the adequacy of people's livelihoods. Fourth, dynamic and responsive government. Five, the adequacy of urban infrastructure. Six, climate-resilient ecosystems. And seven, regional connectivity in supporting community activities," said Rano.

He conveyed that the preparation of the 2027 RKPD would be carried out through a series of deliberations on development plans (musrenbang) from the RW to the province level.

"Therefore, I ask all levels of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to continue to synergize and ensure that the implementation of the 2026 musrenbang and the preparation of the RKPD in 2027 can run well," said Rano.
