KPK Targets Other Allegations Of Corruption At BJB, Procurement Of Ads Becomes An Entrance

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is ready to investigate other allegations of corruption that occurred at PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR). The procurement of problematic advertising is said to be an entry point.

"Of course, every case handling at the KPK will also be an entry point, whether similar practices also occur for other procurement," said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters, Thursday, November 27.

As for the corruption case in the procurement of advertisements, Budi said, the KPK had found evidence and information on the alleged non-budget fund of Bank BJB managed by the corporate secretary (corsec) department to accommodate corruption money.

So, later investigators will explore other sources of money that have been transferred to non-budget funds. "Of course this will be an entry room for investigators. Is this something sourced from other procurements that are set aside from the budget budget for other procurement," he said.

This deepening process was also carried out by examining a number of witnesses. "Not only about the flow of money sourced from non-budget funds managed by Corsec at BJB where non-budget funds are the result or part of the budget set aside from the procurement of advertising expenditures at BJB," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK has named five suspects in connection with allegations of corruption in the procurement of advertisements at PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR).

They are former President Director of Bank BJB Yuddy Renaldi; Head of Bank BJB Corporate Secretary Division Widi Hartoto; Agency Controller Antedja Muliatama and Cakrawala Kreasi Mandiri Ikin Asikin Dulmanan; Agency Controller BSC Advertising and PT Wahana Semesta Bandung Ekspres (WSBE) Suhendrik; and Controller of PT Cipta Karya Sukses Bersama (CKSB) and PT Cipta Karya Mandiri Bersama (CKMB) Raden Sophan Jaya Kusuma.

This case investigation warrant (sprindik) was issued on February 27, 2025. The actions of the five suspects are suspected of having caused the state to lose up to Rp22 billion.

Currently, the detention has not been carried out on five suspects. However, they have been prevented from traveling abroad for six months and can be extended according to the needs of the investigation.

In handling this alleged corruption, investigators have searched a number of places. One of them, Ridwan Kamil's private house and confiscated a Royal Enfield motorcycle.

Then also confiscated Mercedes Benz 280 SL or Mercy Pagoda from a workshop in Bandung City. Later, investigators found out that this car was bought by Ridwan Kamil from the family of the 3rd President of the Republic of Indonesia B. J. Habibie.

However, this car was then handed over to Ilham Habibie as the son of B. J. Habibie. The KPK said the return was made because Ridwan Kamil had not yet completed the sale and the money that had been paid had previously been handed over.
