JAKARTA - The United Nations Agency for Assistance and Work for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, Palestine remains concerning despite the ceasefire.

UNRWA also noted that Israel prevented the entry of its international staff and limited aid deliveries, resulting in a buildup of around 6,000 food trucks at crossing points.

In a UNRWA statement, more than 90 Gazans fully depend on humanitarian aid, with many receiving only one serving of food every 24 hours, quoted from WAFA November 2.

"On average 170 trucks enter the Gaza Strip every day, the number is far below the minimum required to meet basic needs," he continued.

UNRWA currently manages 100 shelters that accommodate more than 80,000 refugees. UNRWA also continues to provide distance learning services to around 300,000 students and face-to-face education to 50,000 students in difficult and stressful conditions.

The agency further stated that about 44,000 children in the Gaza Strip received their education in difficult conditions in 330 temporary study rooms located in 59 shelters.

The agency also stressed that many children are forced to sit on cold soil due to a lack of tables and chairs, which makes learning more difficult and affects their sense of security and stability.

This situation comes amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza after the genocide war launched by Israel's occupation on October 7, 2013, whose catastrophic impact continues to this day.

Israel's bombings and widespread damage led to the loss of schools and educational facilities, prompting UNRWA to turn emergency shelters into temporary learning rooms to meet the urgent educational needs of children.

The agency noted that providing basic needs such as tables and chairs not only provides material benefits but also gives children a sense of stability and hope for a better life after the war.
