JAKARTA - A three-bomb suicide attack targeted a paramilitary force headquarters in Pakistan leaving three soldiers dead and 5 injured on Monday, November 24.
The deputy commander of the paramilitary force, totaling Iqbal, explained that the attackers initially opened fire when they forced their way into police headquarters on the border of Peshawar City, before detonating themselves inside the compound, police said.
"The first suicide bombing launched an attack on the main entrance of the police and others entered the compound," an unnamed senior official said as he was not authorized to speak to the media.
"Law enforcement officers, including the army and police, have carefully closed the area and handled the situation because we suspect there are several terrorists inside the headquarters," the official added.
The troop headquarters is located in a densely populated area in Peshawar, the capital of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
"The road has been closed to traffic and closed by soldiers, police, and personnel (security)," said Safdar Khan, a resident in the area.
