The joint SAR team evacuated the bodies of two landslide victims in Pandanarum Village, Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java who were found during the search process, Thursday, November 20.

Head of the Semarang SAR Office, Budiono, said that the two bodies of each victim were found in the C-2 and A-2 sectors.

"The two victims were found buried by avalanche material at a depth of between half to one meter," he said at the location, confiscated by Antara.

The two bodies of the victims, he continued, were taken to the post at the Pandanarum Health Center for identification.

With the discovery of the two victims, he said, the total number of fatalities in the natural disaster has reached 5 people.

He said the search for victims had been assisted with 12 heavy equipment which was expected to speed up the process.

Officers have to race against time in the process of searching for victims given the bad weather conditions.

According to him, BMKG predicts landslide areas to experience light to heavy rain in the next two days.

Previously, a landslide hit Pandanarum Village on Sunday, November 16, which was allegedly triggered by very high rainfall that flushed the hilly area for more than a few hours.

Dozens of people were reported missing due to being buried by landslides.
