The Status Of The Suspect Is The Reason The Commission For Accelerating Police Reform Rejects Roy Suryo Cs During The Audience At PTIK

JAKARTA - The chairman of the National Police Reform Acceleration Commission, Jimly Asshiddiqie, emphasized that Roy Suryo Cs' presence in the hearing at PTIK, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, did not match the list of names submitted in the official application letter.

This was conveyed by him to explain the walk out incident carried out by Refly Harun and his entourage.

It is known that Refly Harun and Roy Suryo, Tifauziah Tyassuma, and Rismon Sianipar came to discuss the alleged criminalization in the case of alleged fake President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) diploma at PTIK, South Jakarta, Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

Jimly explained that the audience was a meeting to hear opinions from a number of community organizations, YouTubers, and public figures.

"A lot of those present, including generals - generals of retired and YouTubers such as Refly Harun and his friends," said Jimly.

According to Jimly, Refly Harun did submit a letter requesting an audience with his group. However, the names who came to PTIK were not the same as the list listed in the letter. After checking, it was found that some of them were suspects in certain cases.

"After confirmation, there are names of suspects. So last night we held a flash meeting. In conclusion, we should not accept the status of the suspect," he said.

Jimly emphasized that the decision was taken to maintain ethics and respect the ongoing legal process.

Jimly also admitted that he had contacted Refly Harun via text message. He asked that the parties with the status of suspects not be present at the hearing, even though their aspirations could still be conveyed through representatives.

However, he said the message was not forwarded to Roy Suryo, Tifauziah, and Rismon.

"It turned out they were not notified. So I had offered whether they wanted to sit outside or behind without talking. As fighters, they didn't want to. They chose to walk out," said Jimly.

Even so, Jimly still appreciates Refly Harun and his entourage's firm stance.

"It's a true activist, it must be firm. But we also have to keep the forum agreement that the suspect is not participating," he said.

Jimly emphasized that the Police Reform Commission did not handle cases, but instead used reports or events as evaluation material for future police policy improvements.

"But we also have to respect that this forum has agreed that the suspect should not, even though we still hear the aspirations we are talking about," he concluded.
