JAKARTA - The Mayor of East Jakarta, Munjirin, said that in the Kramat Jati area there are several natural disaster-prone points during the rainy season. Especially in areas adjacent to the Ciliwung River.

"Kramat Jati sub-district, so along the Ciliwung river (are found) in Cililitan, Cawang, Balekambang (is a point prone to flood disasters). We are preparing this well," Munjirin told reporters, Monday, November 17.

Munjirin said, Cililitan, Cawang and Balekambang sub-districts are considered prone to flooding in densely populated residential areas because they are crossed by the Ciliwung river.

"It is possible that areas that are not traversed by the Ciliwung flow are also flowed by water at small times," he said.

In addition, the East Jakarta City Government is also assisting trees that are already prone to falling. This anticipates strong winds that hit the East Jakarta area.

"When the weather season is dry like this, this is done by mitigation, especially for trees that are already vulnerable, which are already heavy so that it will become a burden when there is rain and wind that causes trees to fall. And this is easing for the trees, stopped," he said.
