JAKARTA - The Southeast Sulawesi COVID-19 Handling Task Force (Sultra) recorded 218 people in the province died from SARS-CoV-2 infection.

COVID-19 Task Force Spokesman Sultra La Ode Rabiul Awal said from 17 districts / cities in Sultra all regions have cases of dying from coronavirus infection.

"Based on the 'update' (latest) data as of May 21, 2021 the number of deaths increased by one person from North Kolaka Regency, bringing the total number of deaths to 218 people," he said in Kendari, via WhatsApp message reported by Antara, Saturday, May 22.

He mentioned the spread of COVID-19 patients died in Sultra, among them Buton District 14 people, Muna 14, Konawe 20, Kolaka 15, South Konawe 15, Bombana eight, Wakatobi two, North Kolaka 15, North Buton seven, North Konawe two, East Kolaka six and Konawe Islands one person.

"Furthermore, West Muna District four people, Central Buton three, South Buton four, Kendari City 59 and Baubau City 29 people," he said.

Covid-19 positive cases recorded 10,485 people, 10,147 of whom have been declared cured of the virus infection.

"Until now, 130 patients who underwent isolation for the healing period have lived," he said.

He stressed to all parties to always be disciplined in implementing health protocols to prevent a spike in cases and maintain the trend of cases that plague, especially at this time vaccination has not targeted the general public, but only medical personnel, public officials, and the elderly.
