BPJS Kesehatan Deploys Special Team To Track Participant Data Leak News

JAKARTA - The Health Social Security Organizing Agency (BPJS) deployed a special team to track and find sources related to the leak of personal data of participants traded through social media.

"We are currently conducting further searches to ascertain whether the data is from BPJS Kesehatan or not. We have deployed a special team to track down and find the source as soon as possible," bpjs health public relations chief M Iqbal Anas Ma'ruf was quoted as saying by Antara on Friday, May 21.

In the information circulated, said Iqbal, there are 279 million participants' data indicated leaked. Meanwhile, the number of bpjs health participants until May 2021 officially recorded amounted to 222.4 million people.

"We need to emphasize, that BPJS Health consistently ensures the data security of BPJS Kesehatan participants is protected as best as possible," he said.

These data protection efforts use 'complex big data' stored on BPJS Kesehatan servers. "We have a strict and layered data security system in an effort to ensure the confidentiality of such data, including jkn-kis participant data," he said.

In addition, BPJS Kesehatan regularly coordinates with relevant parties to provide maximum data protection.

Previously, news related to the data leak of BPJS Kesehatan participants circulated through a number of Twitter social media accounts.

The account uploaded a screenshot of a conversation of people selling about 290 million indonesian population data sourced from bpjs kesehatan website data.

Components sold in the form of full name, Residence Number (NIK), phone number, address, email, dependents, and others.

There are even some netizens who check the sample data offered and claim that all components are appropriate.

Netizen also commented on bpjs health argument related to the difference in participants' data that leaked more than the actual data recorded in BPJS Kesehatan.
