National Health Day 61 Becomes Momentum To Continue Indonesia's Health Transformation

Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the commemoration of the 61st National Health Day (HKN) was a moment to strengthen commitment, foster optimism, and continue Indonesia's health transformation through a preventive promotive approach.

Budi said that one of them was by Free Health Check (CKG). He explained that of the approximately 280 million Indonesians, more than 240-250 million people were healthy, and the rest had illnesses.

"We only treat those who are sick, those who are 20-30 million, but we forget the 250 million-260 million, healthy. It must be maintained so that you don't get sick. Because if you are sick, you are not productive, you can't work, it costs a lot, pay for medicine, pay for the hospital," Budi said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 12.

He said that living a healthy life is so easy, namely by adjusting diets, sleeping patterns, diligently doing physical activities, and always having positive thoughts.

"It turns out that many adults are in productive age and are lazy. And obesity occurs," he said.

Therefore, he and his two deputy ministers set an example, not being obese. According to him, obesity can bring in more diseases, ranging from high blood pressure, high blood sugar.

"And routinely, once a year, for example, 1-2 health checks," said Budi.

He also gave a number of tips to maintain mental health, such as by keeping the mind from stressing, and regulating so that ambitions can be achieved according to their respective abilities.

"Don't think too much about it if it's difficult. And the important thing is to pray diligently. Must be diligent in meditation. Therefore, it will help us to have a good mental condition," he added.

On the same occasion, Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono Harbuwono said that the benefits of CKG cannot be seen instantly, but in the future.

"Because many patients have no complaints. But actually they have certain diseases. For example, high blood pressure, diabetes. He didn't know before. It was so simple for a free health check to be known. By doing an earlier treatment. Then complications can be suppressed as low as possible," said Dante.

The theme for the 61st HKN is "Healthy Generation, Great Future"
