LAMPUNG BARAT - The West Lampung Regency Government (Lambar), Lampung Province, has begun to repair the bridge connecting Liwa Hanakau which was cut off due to flooding some time ago.
West Lampung Regent Parosil Mabsus said the construction of the new bridge was carried out in an emergency using disaster emergency response funds.
"The government does not remain silent. We have visited the PUPR Ministry directly to convey this, but it cannot be budgeted for in 2025. It can only be budgeted for 2026. For the time being, we will carry out an emergency construction first," said Parosil when contacted from South Lampung, Antara, Tuesday, November 4.
Parosil explained that his party had asked the PUPR Office to immediately improve the broken access because the bridge is the main line for the residents' economy.
"I ask the PUPR and BPBD Offices to act immediately. Today there must be workers who have started work. Heavy equipment and materials are immediately imported," he said.
The connecting bridge collapsed since October 3, 2025 after heavy rains caused flooding and damaged the bridge structure, thus cutting off the residents' main access.
He hopes that this emergency repair can restore connectivity and facilitate community activities in the area.
